Most of us are familiar
with the Vikings' famous voyages across the Atlantic to discover Greenland and Canada. What few of us know is that
the Vikings also went east as far as Constantinople and even Baghdad! The Vikings didn't always pillage and raid.
When the went east they went as traders. They established many settlements in Asia.
Target age group: grades 2-8

Object of the game: To learn about the trade routes of the Vikings (while also reinforcing
geography knowledge of area shown on map)
Time allowance: 15 minutes for set up, 20-30 minutes to
play the game
Materials needed: Copies of the pattern pages (on card stock if at all possible),
scissors, tape, a die, tokens
