Purpose of activity:  to enjoy learning about germination of seeds through a hands-on art project

Description of activity: students use three stencils and color using colored pencils.  The final result is a simple picture showing the stages of germination.

Target age group:  5-8

Time needed:  Adult will have to prepare stencils ahead of time.  In class time is only about 15-20 minutes.

Materials needed:  copies of stencils on card stock (plus laminating plastic if possible), X-acto knife, photocopies on regular paper, colored pencils.
