ATP "pop gun"

Target age group: ages 10-16+

Purpose of project:  To reinforce learning about ATP in a hands-on experiential way that could be much more effective than simply reading about ATP in a textbook.

Description of project:  Students cut and assemble a "pop gun" that looks like a real ATP molecule.  It fires the third phosphate, just like a real ATP molecule does.

Materials needed: copies of pattern page, scissors, glue, three paper clips, two ball point pens that have springs (the "clicky" kind), masking tape, piece of corrugated cardboard
